A Barcamp, sometimes also called an unconference, is characterised by the fact that there is no predetermined programme. Instead, all attendees can contribute their experience, knowledge and ideas and propose sessions. Sessions can have very different formats, including ‘classic’ presentations, discussion rounds, creative workshops, pair programming, and much more.
In the broadest sense, sessions are comparable to talk slots at conferences. But they can take very different formats. Beyond “traditional” presentations, sessions can also be discussion rounds, creative workshops, collaborative coding sessions, and much more.
A brilliant format is the so-called Ask-Session. Instead of presenting knowledge yourself, you pose questions. For example: “Who’s already using Docker in production – and what problems did you encounter?” or “How do you organise your testing strategies?” The attendees then provide the answers. This often leads to many follow-up questions and lively exchange.
A session lasts 45 minutes.

Both are barcamps:
- Bar-Code (12 March) is for everyone who wants to discuss software development.
